Services in Glycomics

GLYCOPROFILING:
We perform high-throughput mass spectrometric glycoprofiling of N- and O-linked glycans liberated from your protein sample (MALDI-MS or LC-ESI-MS)

GLYCAN SEQUENCING:
The MS1 profiling can be combined with MS/MS fragmentation analysis to reveal sequence information on selected glycan species

LINKAGE ANALYSIS:
We offer detailed linkage analysis by GC-MS to unravel the substitution sites of each monosaccharide in a complex glycan or in a glycan mixture (see figure and Linkage Analysis)

ANOMERIC ASSIGNMENTS:
We perform differential studies including exoglycosidase cleavage of peripheral sugars to answer structural questions referring to the anomeric states of sugars

GLYCOSYLATION SITES:
To localize the glycosylation sites we offer glycopeptide analysis by MS/MS (CID or ETD)

SITE-SPECIFIC MICROHETEROGENEITY:
In-source-decay MALDI-MS of O-glycopeptides can reveal insight into site localization of glycans and site-specific microheterogeneity

RARE O-GLYCOSYLATION-TYPES:
We are specialized on the characterization of rare O-glycosylation types (O-Man, O-Fuc, O-Glc, O-GlcNAc)

QUANTITATIVE GLYCOMICS:
Differential glycomics based on isotope labeling can reveal quantitative insight into variation of specific glycans

MONOSACCHARIDE COMPOSITION and SIALIC ACID ACYLATION:
The monosaccharide composition and analysis of sialic acid acylation type are performed by GC-MS

Beyond provision of a comprehensive final ANALYSIS REPORT we try to assist our customers as close as possible and in all respects related to their needs.

We provide TECHNICAL ADVICE IN DEVELOPING CONCEPTS for the most efficient way that answers their analytical questions and FOLLOW-UP CARE related to the interpretation of data. The report will cover

  • a detailed interpretation of MS and GC-MS data,
  • (if requested) with semi-quantitative evaluation of data,
  • tables with structural interpretation/illustration of glycans,
  • comprehensive documentation of raw data including mass spectra, peak lists, and GC-MS chromatograms.
