Technical Information
To support the development of biosimilars or biobetters, GlycoScreen has set up a variety of analytical methods in order to obtain a complete assessment of the protein glycosylation. The analytical methods at GlycoScreen include:
Chemical or enzymatic liberation of glycans
Chromatographic fractionation or separation
Derivatization or labeling of glycans
Mass spectrometric characterization ![]()
Analytical Workflows in Glycan Profiling and Linkage Analysis
The application of mass spectrometry in the characterization of protein modifications and their sites of substitution has strongly improved the analysis of the most challenging modification type, i.e. complex glycans.
GlycoScreen has access to state-of-the-art instruments to carry out mass spectrometry analyses by MALDI-MS, LC-ESI-MS (high- or low-resolution with CID or ETD dissociation) and MALDI-ISD. Monosaccharides and monosaccharide derivatives are analysed by GC-MS.
